Job summary

Life Without Barriers is hiring a Disability Support Worker on a casual basis to provide person-centred support across Forster and Taree. You will work one-on-one with clients in homes or community settings, including travel between sites, and participate in short, split shifts.

The role requires a valid NSW driver’s licence, the ability to drive a 10-seater van, and a current First Aid certificate (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011).

Qualifications

• Must have a current First Aid Certificate HLTAID003 or HLTAID011.
• Unrestricted NSW driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS and Working with Children.

Responsibilities

• Support clients between Forster and Taree.
• Support may be within the client’s home, 1:1 in the community, or day program centres.
• Medication, personal care and mobility assistance.
• Transportation to appointments and activities using a company van or your personal vehicle.
• Foster client choice, expression, and daily engagement with the ability to think outside of the box.
• Build and maintain supportive relationships with clients and their families.
• Occasional sleepover shifts required.
