Job summary

1300SMILES Burnett Dental Centre is seeking a casual Dental Assistant to join our Bundaberg team. On-the-job training will be provided, with around 20–30+ hours per week, Monday to Saturday as needed.

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll support dentists, prepare rooms and instruments, welcome patients, and maintain infection control. Flexible casual hours suit study or other commitments, with opportunities to grow within the Abano Healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Experience in dental assisting preferred but not essential
• Friendly, approachable manner and confident communication with patients
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in dentistry
• Good organisation and attention to detail
• Reliable and flexible with availability (Mon–Sat)

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to dentists across a range of procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and equipment
• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable during appointments
• Clean and sterilise instruments in line with infection control requirements
• Maintain clean, organised and well-prepared clinical areas
• Support the smooth running of daily clinical operations
• Collaborate with the wider team to deliver a positive patient experience
