Job summary

1300SMILES Burnett Dental Centre in Bundaberg is seeking a Casual Dental Assistant to support dentists and the clinical team. The role offers roughly 20–30+ hours per week with on‑the‑job training.

You will assist chairside, prepare rooms, welcome patients and help maintain infection control. Shifts are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, with flexibility to cover as needed. A Certificate III or prior experience is welcome, but not essential. Reliability and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in dental assisting or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
• Friendly, approachable manner and confidence communicating with patients.
• Willingness to learn and develop clinical skills.
• Reliable, organized and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to dentists across procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and equipment.
• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable.
• Clean and sterilise instruments per infection control requirements.
• Maintain clean, organised, well-prepared clinical areas.
• Support daily clinical operations for smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver a positive patient experience.
