Job summary

K&S Corporation, via its Chemtrans division in Australia, is seeking a casual driver to transport Dangerous Goods to customer sites on an ad hoc basis.

Role covers local deliveries around Townsville and FNQ, with occasional overnight trips. Training provided to load/unload DG products; potential to advance into the Explosive division.

Casual work offers overtime and allowances on top of base pay, with uniform and support programs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a MC licence with proven heavy vehicle driving experience.
• Dangerous Goods licence or willingness to obtain.
• Basic Fatigue Management accreditation or willingness to obtain.
• Strong commitment to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate under BFM and transport Dangerous Goods liquids around Townsville and surrounding areas.
• Unload Bulk Tankers, ISOs and palletised freight at customer sites.
• Mainly local routes, with some linehaul overnight trips.
• Use chemical suits and PPE such as respirators when required.
• Pump DG products using electric, diesel and diaphragm pumps.
• Adhere to safety and compliance policies and procedures.

About the role

We currently have a position available for a casual driver looking for a varied, dynamic driving routes transporting Dangerous goods to customer sites on an ad hoc basis.

This role will cover metro and remote deliveries covering FNQ with the occasional overnight trip.

The role suits drivers interested in casual work and not a consistent fulltime role, as it will be supporting the site with extra workload and staff leave.

You will be provided with comprehensive training and mentoring learning to load and unload various liquid DG and non-DG products the Chemtrans way and join a highly experienced operation.

This role will also provide opportunities to advance further into our Explosive division.

Success Profile

• Minimum MC licence with at least 1 year of proven heavy vehicle driving experience
• Dangerous Goods licence- or willing to obtain
• Basic Fatigue Management accreditation- or willing to obtain
• A strong commitment to safety regulations
• Good driving history
• Ability to follow instructions, and to communicate effectively
• Must be available for ad-hoc weekend work
