Job summary

K&S Corporation’s Chemtrans division is seeking a driver for diverse routes that transport dangerous goods. You’ll operate linehaul runs from Townsville to the Northern Territory and other remote sites, using your own Mack truck and adhering to strict DG handling safety protocols.

The role requires DG experience, MC licence, and a strong safety focus. Training will cover loading/unloading DG, PPE, and progression into explosives division opportunities.

Qualifications

• MC license with minimum 3 years on-road heavy vehicle driving experience.
• Dangerous Goods licence and experience handling DG products.
• Basic Fatigue Management accreditation or willingness to obtain.
• Forklift licence required.
• Strong commitment to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate under BFM and transport bulk DG liquids interstate.
• Unload Bulk Tankers, ISOs and palletised freight at customer sites.
• Use chemical PPE and respirators when required.
• Pumping of DG products using pumps (electric, diesel, diaphragm).
• Adhere to safety and compliance policies and procedures.
• Maintain safety standards and follow instructions precisely.

Chemtrans is a division of K&S Corporation and is a well-respected industry leader in the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of dangerous and hazardous goods and chemicals throughout Australia.

About the role:

We currently have a position available for a driver looking for a varied, dynamic driving routes transporting Dangerous goods to customer sites.

This role will involve linehaul runs from Townsville to Northern Territory and other remote locations.

You will have your own dedicated Mack truck

This role requires experience handling dangerous goods as you will be working independently and a level of responsibility is required.

You will be provided with comprehensive training and mentoring learning to load and unload various liquid DG and non-DG products.

This role will also provide opportunities to advance further into our Explosive division.

Responsibilities:

• Operating under BFM and transporting bulk DG liquids interstate.
• Unloading of Bulk Tankers, ISOs and palletised freight at customer sites.
• Using chemical suits and specific PPE such as respirators when required.
• Pumping of DG products using electric, diesel and diaphragm pumps.
• Adhering to safety and compliance policies and procedures.
• A strong commitment to safety regulations, ensuring safety standards are adhered to.

Success Profile:

• MC license with min 3 years of on road heavy vehicle driving experience.
• Dangerous Goods licence & experience handling DG
• Basic Fatigue Management accreditation or willing to obtain
• Forklift licence required
• A strong commitment to safety regulations
• Good driving historyand clear police check
• Ability to follow instructions, and to communicate effectively
• Must be available to work weekends
