Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking Casual Correctional Officers for Dubbo via the Court Escort Security Unit (CESU). You will transport inmates across NSW, perform headcounts and searches, and monitor movements in a hands-on team environment.

A 12-week paid training course and a nationally recognised Certificate III in Correctional Practice are provided, with a base hourly rate of $39.03 plus loadings, plus uniform allowance and 13% employer superannuation.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Hold a current Provisional P1 Drivers Licence.
• Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Willing to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice.
• Meet medical standards and have reasonable level of fitness.
• Details of visible body art must be disclosed per policy.

Responsibilities

• Transport inmates as part of the Court Escort Security Unit (CESU).
• Perform headcounts, searches and monitor movements.
• Work as part of a team with good judgement and clear communication.
• Use of force is trained and applied only when necessary and safe.
