Job summary

Minor Hotels’ Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort in Caloundra is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join the kitchen team on a casual basis. The role supports the preparation and presentation of dishes, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Cookery with knowledge of HACCP and OH&S, and can work flexibly across shifts, including weekends. Ongoing development and team collaboration are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Relevant Certificate III in Cookery.
• Knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine helpful.
• Understanding of HACCP and Workplace Health and Safety (OH&S).
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections of the kitchen.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Take initiative to develop culinary skills and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
• Support less experienced team members when required.
