Job summary

SGS Australia is seeking a Casual Coal Technician based in Unanderra, NSW. You will sample, prep, and perform basic analysis of coal samples for internal and external customers in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires accurate sampling, data recording, and adherence to SGS quality systems and safety standards. Candidates with 6–12 months laboratory or chemical process experience, or completion of HSC with English/Maths/Science passes, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months experience in a laboratory or chemical process.
• Completion of Higher School Certificate with passes in English, Maths and Science.
• Progress towards or completion of relevant higher formal qualifications preferred.
• Ability to pass numeracy, writing and comprehension tests and meet required standards.

Responsibilities

• Accurately conducting physical coal sampling and testing of routine samples.
• Receipting, recording, sorting and storing coal samples as required.
• Compliance with analytical methods and SGS Quality Systems & onsite HSE Standards.
• Day-to-day upkeep of analytical and sample preparation equipment.
• Delivery of quality samples to internal and external customers.
• Flexibility to work day, afternoon, and/or night shifts on weekdays/weekends.
