Job summary

Save Our Service is seeking qualified casual cooks to support early childhood services across Australia. You will travel to different centres for shifts, bringing reliable, organised and independent support to meal preparation and service.

Join a team that emphasises hygiene, safety and dietary requirements while offering induction, ongoing training and nationwide opportunities in metropolitan, regional and rural locations.

Qualifications

• Be willing and able to travel to different childcare centres for shifts.
• Hold a current food safety qualification, such as Cert IV in Cookery, Food Safety Supervisor, or Certificate in Hospitality.
• Have experience working as a cook in a childcare or early learning setting and be confident working independently.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of hygiene, food safety, and dietary requirements in childcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in line with centre menus and dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment.
• Follow food safety, allergy management, and hygiene procedures at all times.
• Communicate effectively with centre staff regarding meals and dietary needs.
• Support centres by working independently and adapting quickly to new environments.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking reliable, organised, and experienced casual cooks to support early childhood education and care services across Australia.

To be eligible, you must:

Be willing and able to travel to different childcare centres for shifts

Hold a current food safety qualification, such as:

Cert IV in Cookery
