Job summary

Save Our Service is seeking reliable casual cooks to support early childhood education and care services across Australia. You will prepare nutritious meals, keep a clean, safe kitchen, and ensure adherence to hygiene and dietary requirements at each centre.

Travel to different childcare centres is central to the role, with a comprehensive induction and ongoing training provided. Applicants must have a current food safety qualification and childcare cooking experience.

Qualifications

• Cook in childcare or early learning setting experience preferred.
• Demonstrate strong hygiene and dietary requirement knowledge.
• Must hold current food safety qualification (e.g., Basic Food Handling, Food Safety Supervisor, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in line with centre menus and dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment.
• Follow food safety, allergy management, and hygiene procedures at all times.
• Communicate effectively with centre staff regarding meals and dietary needs.
• Support centres by working independently and adapting quickly to new environments.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking reliable, organised, and experienced casual cooks to support early childhood education and care services across Australia.

To be eligible, you must:

• Be willing and able to travel to different childcare centres for shifts
• Hold a current food safety qualification, such as:
  • Basic Food Handling
  • Food Safety Supervisor
  • Certificate in Hospitality (or equivalent)
• Have experience working as a cook in a childcare or early learning setting
• Demonstrate strong understanding of hygiene, food safety, and dietary requirements in childcare environments
