Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking compassionate Care Service Employees for casual work in South Coogee, NSW. You will provide person-centred care, assist with daily living activities and support residents at morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: Certificate III in Aged Care / Individual Support / 2nd year Nursing students who have completed 1 placement.
• Experience in a similar role in aged care.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm, care and compassion in caring for elderly people.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Respect for all people regardless of background, age, gender, religion and ethnicity.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with personal care including showering.
• Supporting residents with meals.
• Contributing to care planning with registered staff.
• Documenting care and services provided to residents.
• Engaging residents in meaningful activities.
