Winanga-Li Aboriginal Child and Family Centre seeks a casual Support Worker to assist children, young people and families in the Gunnedah region. The role supports culturally safe, community-focused services based from the Youth Hub with flexible hours.

You will work with the CAFS program to prevent vulnerability, build strong family connections and provide pathways to positive outcomes for children and communities. A rewarding, community-driven position.

Competenze

• Aboriginality is required for this role.
• Valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
• Valid National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with children, parents and carers and knowledge of child development and crisis intervention.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent communication, administrative and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
• Knowledge of community agencies and ability to coordinate services.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Provide case work, parenting support and skills development.
• Make referrals and link families to community supports.
• Provide information and guidance to young people and families.
