Job summary

MDAS in Mildura invites applications for a Caseworker Adolescent Family Violence role. The role provides culturally safe outreach and case management to young people who use violence within the family, working with families to reduce risk and build healthier futures.

This full-time ongoing position is based at the Mildura office; prior experience with young people and trauma-informed approaches is valued, with training in MARAM considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people and families with complex needs.
• Strong case management, communication and relationship building skills.
• Understanding of family violence, trauma-informed practice and risk management.
• Ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people, services and communities.
• Family violence experience and MARAM training are highly regarded, but not essential; willing to undertake required training.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, culturally appropriate case management and outreach support.
• Support young people to develop respectful communication, coping skills and positive behaviour change.
• Identify and respond to family violence risk and escalated safety concerns where required.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, DFFH and other community agencies.
• Maintain accurate case notes, data and reporting requirements.

About the role

The Caseworker Adolescent Family Violence provides culturally safe, assertive outreach and case management to young people who use violence within the family. You will work alongside young people and their families to reduce family violence risk, strengthen relationships, build positive coping strategies and create safer, healthier futures.

This is a full-time ongoing position based at our Mildura office location.
