Job summary

SA Health's Northern Midwifery Group Practice is seeking a Midwife or Clinical Midwife to join the team at Gawler Health Service & Kapunda Hospital. The role is Ongoing, Part-Time (32 hours per week) and classified as RN/M1 or RN/M2C depending on experience, with salary bands reflecting hours worked.

You will provide patient-centred care, lead within a multidisciplinary team, and participate in education and service improvements to enhance outcomes for women and families in the region.

Qualifications

• Ongoing, Part-Time (32 hours per week - worked over a 7 day roster).
• Position multi-classed as RN/M1 or RN/M2C with appointment classification based on qualifications and experience.
• Caseload management within a Midwifery Group Practice setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing/midwifery care and case management, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based outcomes for patients and clients.
• Provide clinical leadership and coordination within the team/unit, overseeing care delivery, facilitating patient flow, and supporting multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Support operational and service improvement activities, including change management, problem solving, development of clinical protocols, and coordination of services across disciplines.
• Contribute to education, mentoring, and workforce development by supporting students, new staff, and less experienced clinicians through teaching, guidance, and professional development activities.
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical auditing, research, and evaluation activities to enhance patient outcomes and maintain high standards of clinical practice.
