Job summary

SA Health's Women’s and Children’s Hospital in North Adelaide is seeking an experienced Midwife to support women and families through pregnancy, birth and postnatal care. The role involves direct midwifery care, case management within a multidisciplinary team, and applying evidence-based guidelines to achieve safe, compassionate outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice.
• Knowledge and understanding of the role of the Registered General Nurse/Midwife within a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess individual patient/client needs, and plan, implement and/or coordinate appropriate service delivery.
• Provide direct person-centred midwifery care and individual case management to patients.
• Provide health promotion and education.
• Review decisions, assessments, and recommendations from less experienced Midwives.
• Use foundation theoretical knowledge and evidenced based guidelines to achieve positive patient care outcomes.
