Job summary

Downunder People in Melbourne seeks an Indigenous Identified Case Manager to support Aboriginal women and children affected by family violence. You will conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments, carry out screening, referrals and short-term support, and coordinate case management with a strengths-based approach.

You will liaise with Aboriginal families and communities to enhance safety and healthy family functioning, address housing challenges, and promote cultural safety.

Qualifications

  • Case management experience with Aboriginal families and communities.
  • Experience coordinating referrals and short-term support.
  • Sensitivity to Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander culture and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide family violence case management support and coordination for Aboriginal women and children.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments, including screening, referrals and short-term support.
  • Promote cultural safety and healthy family functioning; ensure safety from violence and stability for children and young people.

Role Purpose:

P roviding family violence case management support and case coordination toAboriginal women and their children affected by family violence. Utilising our strengths-based approach,conducting comprehensive needs and risk assessments for women and their children includingscreening, assessment, referrals and short-term support.

Position Specifics:

Case management, referrals, promoting cultural safety, healthy family functioning, safety from violence, overallsecurity and the stability and development of Aboriginal children and young people. Liaising with Aboriginal families and communities to enhance child, family and Community capacity. This rolealso provides support and specialised knowledge to improve responses to housing challenges faced byCommunity members.
