Who We Are

At Benevolent, we believe every person deserves to live life on their own terms, with dignity, respect and a sense of belonging. For over two centuries, as Australia's first charity, this belief has shaped who we are and how we work.

As a not-for-profit, independent and non-religious organisation, we are a practice‑led organisation, our work is grounded in evidence and strengths‑based approaches that place people at the centre of everything we do. We walk alongside individuals, families and communities, upholding rights, amplifying voices and advocating for safer, more inclusive systems where people can thrive.

Our Intensive Family Support program offers voluntary in-home family support to families who are at risk of entering or re – entering the Child Protection System. Through case management and effective relationship building, we aim to strengthen families so children can live at home safely, free from abuse and neglect.

As our Case Manager (Child & Family Practitioner), you will engage and provide intensive support to at risk families to help them make positive choices in their parenting. Using your practice framework as well as Structured Decision‑Making tools, you will undertake an initial assessment of a family’s strengths and needs and develop case plans that build on the family’s resilience to enable them to overcome risks and increase the family’s functioning.

How You Will Contribute
  • Collaborate with child protection and community services to enhance safety and family functioning at home.
  • Assess family needs using Common Assessment Tools, tailoring in‑home support to increase capacity and reduce risk.
  • Engage clients of all ages during assessment, developing, implementing, and reviewing client plans with a focus on strengths and risk reduction.
  • Coordinate with various service providers to ensure comprehensive support and access to necessary resources.
  • Join a dynamic team of specialists dedicated to delivering a comprehensive support service prioritizing child safety.
