Job summary

TAFE NSW External in Randwick (Eora Country) invites applications for a permanent full-time Teacher of Carpentry to inspire the next generation of tradespeople. The role is based at Randwick Campus with occasional travel to St George Campus.

You will deliver Carpentry and Joinery programs, guiding students through roof, wall, floor framing, site set-out, cladding and related craft skills. The role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and offers the Paid to Learn pathway for

Qualifications

Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Certificate III in Carpentry and Certificate IV in Building or equivalent.
Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training or willingness to undertake our full-time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course.
Have a minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in residential construction, with at least two (2) of them within the last two (2) years to meet currency of practice requirements.

Responsibilities

Deliver Carpentry and Joinery educational programs and facilitate learning.
Lead students through indoor and outdoor projects including roof, wall and floor framing as well as site set-out and cladding.
Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment initiatives and participate in the Paid to Learn pathway where eligible.
