Job summary

Florentine Constructions in Canberra is seeking experienced carpenters to join our growing residential team. You will work on renovations of kitchens and bathrooms, and perform maintenance in clients' homes with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

We value punctuality, respect for clients' homes, and good communication. Applicants must have carpentry experience, their own tools, a valid driving licence, and all required safety cards.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry and/or joinery essential.
• Current driver's licence required.
• Own vehicle and tools required.
• White card.
• Asbestos Awareness Card.
• Silica Awareness Card.
• Working with Vulnerable People Card.
• Current Police Check.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Australian citizen or permanent resident with full working rights.
• References preferred.

Responsibilities

• Renovations of kitchens and bathrooms and minor repairs.
• Work largely solo, with some assistance on bigger jobs.
• Travel across Canberra and occasionally further.
• Finish work to a high standard at all times.

Florentine Constructions is a growing company working in the residential insurance and renovation field. Occasionally we branch out, but for the most part you will be in people’s homes, repairing it after their insurance claim or renovating existing homes. This is very different to large scale construction sites, and we need someone who is respectful of all cultures, well presented, well mannered and punctual. This is extremely sought after work, and my current team are very happy. You will be joining a team of over 10 as well as numerous sub contractors in all fields. We have grown and are now looking for experienced professionals to join our team. This is a well remunerated full time role, with all the benefits.

Qualifications & experience

• Experience in Carpentry and/or Joinery a must
• You must have a current drivers licence
• Your own vehicle and tools
• White card
• Asbestos Awareness Card
• Silica Awareness Card
• Working with Vulnerable People Card
• Current Police Check
• The role requires someone who is physically fit
• The successful candidate must have strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• If successful you will need to pass a police check and have a Working with Vulnerable People Card
• Basic understanding of occupational health and safety responsibilities and practices
• Australian citizen or permanent resident with full working rights
• Applicant with references preferred

Tasks & responsibilities

• We are looking for a positive and hardworking professionals to join our growing team. You will be working mainly on renovations of kitchens and bathrooms and minor repairs an maintenance, but may be required for other jobs as necessary.
• You will need to be able to work for the most part on your own. The bigger jobs you will have some help, but you must be able to complete minor works without assistance.
• Travel required across Canberra and occasionally further
• Work to be finished to a high standard at all times.
