Job summary

SGR Roofing National Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Carpenter for a full-time, permanent role in Redcliffe, QLD. The successful candidate will construct, install, renovate and repair wooden structures and fixtures, reading plans and ensuring safety compliance.

The position offers standard hours with overtime and attaches to the Building and Construction General On-site Award. The role requires a relevant AQF Certificate III or IV or equivalent experience, with at least three years in carpentry.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of carpentry experience can substitute for formal AQF qualifications.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings to identify materials, dimensions, and installation methods.
• Source timber and materials and prepare layout plans.
• Cut, assemble, nail, and shape components for structures.
• Build frameworks, roof structures, sub-floors, and floorboards to ensure alignment.
• Install fascia, roof sheathing, external cladding and door/window frames.
• Assemble prefabricated wooden components for installation.
• Create wooden joints for structural connections.
• Repair fixtures and fittings as needed.
