Job summary

Prestige Staffing Personnel is seeking a Carpenter / Leading Hand for a respected Sunraysia-based commercial builder in Mildura. You will run your own bay or section, read architectural and structural drawings, and keep subcontractors and apprentices moving to a high standard of finish.

You'll contribute to how a job runs day-to-day and have a clear path into a permanent Leading Hand or site supervisor role for the right person, with a genuine local focus and steady pipeline of premium local

Qualifications

• Trade qualification Certificate III Carpentry or equivalent.
• Commercial construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
• Current driver’s licence and commitment to safety.
• Leading Hand or supervisory experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Run your own bay or section of a commercial build.
• Read and work from architectural/structural drawings.
• Coordinate subcontractors and apprentices to keep work progressing.
• Identify and fix small issues before practical completion.

About the Role

This role is for a Carpenter / Leading Hand who can be handed a set of commercial drawings and acrew, andbe trusted to deliver both to a standard the business can put its name to. Day to day, that means running your own bay or section of a commercial build, reading and working from architectural and structural drawings, keeping subcontractors and apprentices moving in the right direction, and catching the small things,a bad joint, a rushed fix, a corner someone tried to cut,before they become a problem at practical completion.You'llhave real input into how a job runs, not just how your section of it gets built, andthere'sa clear path from here into a permanent Leading Hand or site supervisor role for the right person.

What you'll bring

• A trade qualification(Certificate III Carpentry or equivalent)backed by genuine commercial construction experience, not just residential.
• An eye for detail and a finishyou'dbe happy to put your name to.
• The confidence to run a site day-to-day: reading drawings, coordinating subcontractors, and keeping a crew,including apprentices,on track without needing to be chased.
• A current driver's licence and a genuine,demonstratedcommitment to safety.
• Leading Hand or supervisory experience is well regarded but not essential if the rest of the fit is right.
