Job summary

City of Newcastle is seeking a qualified Carpenter & Joiner to join our Building Trades team. You will deliver construction, maintenance, repair and upgrade works across a broad range of Council assets, including community facilities, public buildings and operational infrastructure.

You’ll work both independently and as part of a supportive team, applying your trade expertise to deliver safe, high quality outcomes and practical solutions across a varied portfolio of work.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
• Experience in building construction, maintenance and repair works.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proactive problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver construction, maintenance, repair and upgrade works across Council assets.
• Work independently and in a team to achieve safe, high quality outcomes.
• Contribute to planning through to completion on diverse projects.
