Job summary

Queensland Health in Atherton is seeking a Carpenter to perform high standard preventive and corrective maintenance on Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service buildings, plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings. The Carpenter will undertake minor new works as directed by the Trade Coordinator, ensuring compliance and reliable facility operations.

The role focuses on planned maintenance, collaboration with staff and external contractors, and maintaining licences and training.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a proactive willingness to undertake any training or skill development deemed necessary to support the role and business needs.
• Liaise with and work with staff, other government agencies and private contractors to ensure work is undertaken with minimal disruption to clients and other staff
• Maintain personal licences and any assigned annual training requirements to ensure that they are always current.
• Ensure all Planned Maintenance work orders have required service reports attached as evidence of completion. Discuss defects identified with Trade Coordinator and assist in compilation of corrective works required to ensure equipment/items inspected remain in a serviceable condition.
