Job summary

SHR Joinery is a leading Sydney-based joinery company specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke architectural joinery for residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking a Carpenter and Joiner to join the team! your role will be responsible for the manufacture, assembly, installation and finishing of custom joinery products across both factory and site environments. This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Yennora, NSW.

Factory / Workshop Responsibilities –

• -Cabinet and joinery assembly
• -Cutting, machining and preparation of materials
• -Operation of woodworking machinery and equipment including but not limited to:
• oCNC machinery
• oTable saw
• oHand and power tools
• -Reading and interpreting production drawings and technical documentation
• -Edge finishing and detailed joinery work
• -Adhesive application and material preparation
• -Quality control and inspection of completed work
• -Maintaining workshop cleanliness and housekeeping standards
• -Assisting with loading, unloading and material handling as required
• -Studying and interpreting drawings and specifications to determine materials and installation methods
• -Cutting, shaping and fitting timber components
• -Constructing timber structures and bespoke timber fittings
• -Installation of custom joinery and cabinetry on site
• -Interpretation of shop drawings and site plans
• -Site measurement and verification where required
• -Use of hand and power tools during installation works
• -Coordination with supervisors, builders and other trades on site
• -Rectification and adjustment of joinery items where required
• -Protection of completed works and maintaining site presentation
• -Compliance with site induction and safety requirements
• -Reporting site issues, defects or variations to management
• -Installation of timber structures, door and window frames and timber fittings
• -Repair and modification of existing timber fittings where required
• -Minimum of relevant Certificate IV plus minimum 1 year’ relevant work experience in the last 5 years.
• -3-5 years’ relevant work experience may substitute the formal qualification.
• -Experience in carpentry or joinery
• -Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• -Experience using woodworking machinery and power tools
• -Strong workmanship and attention to detail
• -Ability to work independently and within a team
• -Good communication and problem-solving skills
• -Construction White Card (preferred/required)

Annual salary will be between $90,000 to $100,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
