Job summary

Anglicare Sydney’s Newmarch House seeks a caring Carer to provide high‑quality, person‑centred support for residents, helping with daily tasks and wellbeing. You will document progress, follow care plans and work with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), at least six months’ care experience, and current NDIS screening. Morning, afternoon and night shifts are available on a casual basis.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) is required.
• Minimum six months’ experience in personal care in aged care or similar healthcare.
• Current NDIS worker screening clearance.
• Experience using electronic care management or digital documentation systems.
• Australian working rights for the position.
• Casual availability for Morning, Afternoon and Night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding.
• Support residents with mobility, transfers and other physical assistance.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Observe, monitor and document residents’ care and progress.
• Follow individual care plans and respond to residents’ needs and preferences.
• Escalate changes in a resident’s condition to the RN or leader.
• Collaborate with nurses and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Maintain residents’ privacy, dignity, safety and independence.

Your opportunity

As a Carer at Anglicare Sydney’s Newmarch House, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care that supports our residents to live with dignity and purpose. You will assistwith daily tasks, attending to residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing. You will ensure the physical comfort and emotional health of our residents are met and help enhance their independence and quality of life.

With kindness and understanding, you will:

• Provide personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding
• Support residents with mobility, transfers and other physical assistance

• Observe, monitor and accurately document residents’ care and progress
• Follow individual care plans and respond to residents’ needs and preferences

• Work collaboratively with nurses, allied health professionals and other care team members
• Maintain residents’ privacy, dignity, safety and independence

What’s required:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or an equivalent qualification
• Minimum six months’ experience providing personal care in aged care or a similar healthcare environment
• Current NDIS workers screening check clearance.
• Experience using electronic care management or digital documentation systems
• Australian working rights appropriate to the position
• Availability to work Morning /afternoon and Night shifts on casual basis.

What’s preferred:

• Experience working in residential aged care
• Experience supporting people living with dementia
• Experience completing progress notes and following individual care plans
• Experience working collaboratively with Registered Nurses and multidisciplinary care teams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
