Job summary

Uniting is hiring casual and permanent part-time Care Service Employees across Central Coast and Newcastle facilities. Up to $34.59 p/h plus super, penalties, and benefits. Opportunity to work up to 76 hours per fortnight, supporting residents with daily living, mobility and social activities.

Qualified applicants with Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support are preferred; those without qualification can access training. A supportive culture and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
• Support willingness to complete required training if you’re not yet qualified.
• Experience in aged or community care or strong interest in starting a career in aged care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to promote independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities including showering, hygiene, dressing and meals.
• Support with medications and simple wound dressings.
• W participate in community-based recreational and social activities with residents.

Working across Uniting facilities in our Central Coast Hunter New England region; Hamlyn Terrace, Bateau Bay, Elermore Vale, Hamilton, Belmont North, Garden Suburb, Mayfield

What you’ll be doing in this role

• Our Uniting Household Model of care empowers our residential care teams with freedom to support our residents in ways that help them maintain a sense of meaning and purpose in their day. As a Carer in a household, you’ll provide care, companionship, and emotional support to residents to help support their independence and improve their quality of life, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support or an equivalent qualification. PLEASE NOTE: If you’re not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you get there. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, flexible and resourceful and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Must be able to transport yourself by car or public transport.
