Job summary

Uniting Aged Care is seeking Care Service Employees to join our FlexConnect pool across Central Coast and Newcastle facilities. Casual and permanent part-time roles offer up to $34.59 per hour, plus super, penalties, and loading.

You’ll support residents with daily living, mobility, and social activities in Uniting’s Household model of care. Ideal candidates have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent, with compassionate, adaptable, and reliable traits.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
• Able to demonstrate empathy, adaptability and strong communication.
• Willingness to travel between facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living support and personal care to residents.
• Assist with mobility, showering, dressing and mealtime assistance.
• Support residents with medications and simple wound care, and accompany activities.

CASUAL AND PERMANENT PART TIME ROLES BASED ACROSS UNITING CENTRAL COAST AND/OR NEWCASTLE FACILITIES; HAMLYN TERRACE, BATEAU BAY, ELERMORE VALE, HAMILTON, BELMONT NORTH, GARDEN SUBURB, MAYFIELD

• Up to $34.59 p/h+ super, penalties, tax benefits plus casual loading

• Casual role with the ability to work up to 76 hours per fortnight

Working across Uniting facilities in our Central Coast Hunter New England region; Hamlyn Terrace, Bateau Bay, Elermore Vale, Hamilton, Belmont North, Garden Suburb, Mayfield

What you’ll be doing in this role

• Our Uniting Household Model of care empowers our residential care teams with freedom to support our residents in ways that help them maintain a sense of meaning and purpose in their day. As a Carer in a household, you’ll provide care, companionship, and emotional support to residents to help support their independence and improve their quality of life, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support or an equivalent qualification. PLEASE NOTE: If you’re not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you get there. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, flexible and resourceful and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Must be able to transport yourself by car or public transport.
