Job summary

Uniting Aged Care in the Central Coast and Newcastle region is seeking casual and part-time care service employees. You will support residents with daily living activities, provide companionship, and help maintain independence and quality of life across multiple facilities including Hamlyn Terrace and Bateau Bay.

Ideal candidates may have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent, with a compassionate, adaptable mindset.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in aged or community care preferred or a willingness to start.
• Able to travel by car or public transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living assistance such as showering, dressing, meals, and mobility.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

CASUAL AND PERMANENT PART TIME ROLES BASED ACROSS UNITING CENTRAL COAST AND/OR NEWCASTLE FACILITIES; HAMLYN TERRACE, BATEAU BAY, ELERMORE VALE, HAMILTON, BELMONT NORTH, GARDEN SUBURB, MAYFIELD

• Up to $34.59 p/h+ super, penalties, tax benefits plus casual loading
• Great opportunities for qualified and unqualified carers
• Casual role with the ability to work up to 76 hours per fortnight

Working across Uniting facilities in our Central Coast Hunter New England region; Hamlyn Terrace, Bateau Bay, Elermore Vale, Hamilton, Belmont North, Garden Suburb, Mayfield

What you’ll be doing in this role

• Our Uniting Household Model of care empowers our residential care teams with freedom to support our residents in ways that help them maintain a sense of meaning and purpose in their day. As a Carer in a household, you’ll provide care, companionship, and emotional support to residents to help support their independence and improve their quality of life, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support or an equivalent qualification. PLEASE NOTE: If you’re not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you get there. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, flexible and resourceful and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Must be able to transport yourself by car or public transport.
