Job summary

Bolton Clarke Bayside is seeking a dedicated frontline carer with a focus on nutrition and dining to support residents with person-centred care and meal delivery.

You will assist with meal preparation, serving, and dining areas, respect resident preferences, monitor allergies, and engage residents socially during mealtimes in a compassionate, reliable team environment at our Bayside facility in Mordialloc, VIC.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• A compassionate and caring attitude.
• Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded).
• Willingness to take direction from others.
• Reliability and shift flexibility.
• Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Valid working rights in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate etc).
• Complete a police check and/or a NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain) prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.
• Provide care and support aligned with residents’ preferred daily routines with a focus on meal choices and nutrition.
• Consider allergies and food intolerances; enhance the overall dining experience.
• Assist residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences.
• Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences.
• Engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes.
• Promote resident choice and dignity in dining.

The Role

This roleplays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice.Assistingin the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.

Your responsibilities will be to provide care and support aligned withresidents’preferred daily routines with a strong focus on:

Meal choices and individual nutrition

Consideration of allergies and food intolerances

Enhancing the overall dining experience

Assist residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences

Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences

Actively engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes

Use empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience

Promote resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect

Prepare and maintain dining experience areas and provide meal service to meet individual resident choices

Maintain accurate nutrition and diet information as required

Assist with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework

Assist with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required

To be successful, you will have:
