Job summary

BaptistCare NSW & ACT is seeking a Care Worker to support clients in Nowra and surrounding areas, helping with daily living tasks in clients' homes. You will contribute to complex care and build meaningful relationships, promoting independence and comfort for older Australians.

You will receive orientation, supervisor support, a provided mobile phone, and access to development opportunities to advance your career in home care.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Australian Driver Licence with a reliable vehicle and minimum third-party property damage insurance.
• Strong communication skills with resilience and patience.
• Proficient use of smartphone technology, apps and email.

Responsibilities

• Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, food preparation and dressing.
• Provide showering, continence support and medication assistance as needed.
• Offer transport to clients and accompany them to appointments.

About the role

As a Care Worker supporting clients in the Nowra and surrounding areas, you will be part of our BaptistCare At Home team that provides quality complex care and support to our clients in their own homes. You may assist with a range of tasks pertaining to household cleaning, showering, dressing, food preparation, continence support, medication assistance and transport to name a few. You will also develop genuine connections with your clients and help them live their best possible lives.

To support you in your role

• We offer a comprehensive orientation program including buddy shifts
• You’ll have direct access to a dedicated supervisor to support you
• You’ll be provided with a mobile phone to access emails, rosters and client care plans
• Access to a dedicated learning and development team to support your ongoing professional development and career pathways
• Earn $34.42/hr (unqualified) - $36.23/hr (qualified) plus superannuation per hour + paid travel time and mileage between clients

What do we need from you?

You will have an unrestricted Australian Driver Licence and a reliable vehicle with minimum Third-Party Property Damage Insurance to transport clients. You will be a strong communicator with resilience and patience. You will be a proficient user of smartphone technology, apps and email.
