Job summary

Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District is seeking a Carer Program Coordinator to develop partnerships between consumers, carers and health service providers across the region.

You will work with key stakeholders to increase carers' access to services and improve communication with health professionals, while initiating strategies to enhance local health service effectiveness for carers.

Qualifications

Carer Program Coordinators are responsible for the development of partnerships between consumers, carers and health service providers at the local level. Carer Program Coordinators will work closely with key stakeholders to increase carers access to a range of services and to facilitate communication between carers and health professionals.

The Carer Program Coordinator role will initiate strategies to improve the effectiveness of local health services in meeting the needs of carers, through the provision of structures to promote carer initiatives. These may include education for both carers and health professionals and networking with all key stakeholders within government and non-government organisations. This position will suit a health professional with hospital/community and program management experience.

From Helensburgh in the north to North Durras in the south, ISLHD covers an area of 5,687 square kms. That’s 5,687 square kms of beautiful beaches, coastal cycling tracks, lush rainforests, incredible bushwalks and friendly people. The region is also host to many annual food, wine and arts festivals and events.

ISLHD operates seven hospital sites, employ over 8,500 staff and provide community health services across 58 locations. Commute times are short, childcare and schooling options are plentiful, and Sydney and Canberra are close by.
