Job summary

Western Health has a vacancy for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Cardiac Care Unit at Footscray Hospital (Ward 7B). You will provide leadership, mentor staff and ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care in a 16-bed CCU, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

The role offers ongoing professional development, clinical governance, and opportunities to drive safety improvements, modelling evidence-based practice and Western Health values.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in Cardiac/Critical Care Nursing.
• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia.
• Competent in Advanced Life Support (ALS).
• Excellent clinical and organisational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preceptorship/clinical supervision training and experience.
• Management and leadership experience (desirable).
• Experience working in cardiac care or critical care (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Shift management and daily operations within the CCU.
• Facilitating patient flow and advocating for best care throughout the inpatient journey.
• Collaborate with the NUM to manage the unit and staff.
• Promote ongoing learning and education for all staff in the unit.
• Ensure safe and high-quality patient care in line with Western Health values and policies.
• Provide exceptional care to patients in the acute cardiac setting.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead a NSQHS-aligned portfolio.
• Support and lead organisational change.
