Job summary

NSW Health’s Blacktown Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Catheter Laboratories. You will deliver safe, patient-centred care across coronary interventions, electrophysiology, cardiac devices and vascular procedures.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, support education and clinical development, and uphold high standards of radiation safety and documentation. The role is permanent part-time (28 hours/week) with a different schedule possible.

Qualifications

• Recent (extensive) clinical experience in Cardiovascular and/or Operating Theatre services and/or cardiac catheter laboratory.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and lead junior members where appropriate.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.
• Ability to inform, engage and reassure patients and families regarding care and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based, patient-centred nursing care across the procedural journey.
• Care for patients undergoing coronary angiograms, PCI, electrophysiology studies, ablations and cardiac device procedures.
• Support vascular procedures, transoesophageal echocardiograms and CT coronary angiography services.
• Undertake circulating and instrument nursing responsibilities.
• Monitor patients, administer medications and IV therapies, and maintain high-quality documentation and safety.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for patients and carers.
