Job summary

Cleanaway's Carbon team is seeking a seasoned carbon accounting professional to strengthen enterprise emissions reporting, ACCU management and NGERS assurance. You will collaborate with operations, engineering, finance, sustainability and data teams to turn policy into practical action and to optimise carbon value.

Based in Milton, Queensland, the role offers complex national scope, hands-on regulatory reporting, and opportunities for career development within Australia’s largest waste

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in carbon accounting, emissions reporting, energy, waste or decarbonisation.
• Hands-on experience with ACCU methodologies and NGERS reporting and audit requirements.
• Working knowledge of NGERS, ASRS, Scope 3 and assurance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and Power BI for emissions reporting.
• Ability to influence diverse stakeholders and explain complex findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual Scope 1 and 2 emissions reporting and ACCU calculations.
• Manage ACCU applications and issuance, working with auditors and government stakeholders.
• Own assurance and audit programs covering NGERS, ACCUs and Safeguard obligations.
• Contribute to developing and implementing Scope 3 emissions reporting processes.
• Improve systems, controls and documentation supporting NGERS and ASRS reporting.
• Analyse carbon credit scenarios and regulatory outcomes to inform commercial decisions.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Sustainability and data teams.
