Job summary

CD Motor Group in Melbourne is seeking a Service Technician for a three-month, full-time contract (8am–4pm) with the possibility of permanence. You will service, repair, diagnose, and fit-out caravans, campers, and RVs to high standards, ensuring safety and quality in every task while upholding dealership expectations.

Key duties include interior/exterior fit-offs, scheduled servicing, fault diagnosis, and warranty repairs, with emphasis on safe work practices and accurate workmanship.

Qualifications

• Experience in caravan, manufacturing, automotive, RV, marine, or similar mechanical trade.
• Strong understanding of 12V electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical components.
• Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Job description

Three month, full time 8am - 4pm, temporary contract role with the possibility of becoming permanent. The Service Technician is responsible for carrying out high-quality servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and fit-outs on caravans, campers, and RVs. This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer and dealership standards, supporting a positive customer experience and the overall reputation of the dealership.

Key responsibilities

• Interior and Exterior fit-offs
• Perform scheduled service, maintenance, and safety checks on caravans and RVs
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues
• Conduct brake, bearing, suspension, and chassis inspections and repairs
• Install and repair appliances, 12V/240V systems, gas systems (if licensed), and accessories
• Complete warranty repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Install aftermarket accessories such as solar systems, batteries, awnings, air-conditioning units, towing equipment, and water systems
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
• Follow all workplace health and safety proceduresUse tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices correctly and safely
• Assist with stock control of parts and workshop consumables

About you

• Experience in caravan, manufacturing, automotive, RV, marine, or similar mechanical/technical trade
