Job summary

Camden Council is seeking a Canopy and Restoration Officer to help protect, expand and manage Camden's urban forest across a range of projects. The role delivers ecological restoration, revegetation and biodiversity outcomes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

You will work in a hybrid environment with a 35-hour week and professional development opportunities. The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and GIS experience, plus local government exposure and grant

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Urban Forestry or related field with relevant experience.
Knowledge of urban forestry, revegetation, biodiversity and native vegetation restoration.
Experience leading urban forest projects and environmental management initiatives.
Proficiency with GIS and spatial data systems.
Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
Experience with grant-funded environmental projects and local gov work.

Responsibilities

Contribute to canopy growth, revegetation and restoration projects across Camden LGA.
Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors and community groups to deliver outcomes.
Develop and monitor urban forest planting, vegetation restoration and ecologies.
Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and priorities.
