Job summary

Resolve Recruit is partnering with a Commonwealth Government agency to appoint a Senior Data Platform Engineer in Canberra. The role focuses on designing, supporting and continuously improving enterprise data platforms and analytics environments with broad tech coverage including SQL Server, SAS, R, Python, Power BI, Windows, Linux and Azure.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing and supporting secure enterprise data platforms or analytical environments.
• Strong capability across SQL, database design, data modelling, integration and data pipelines.
• Experience with SAS, R, Python, SQL Server and/or Power BI.
• Experience with Windows and Linux administration, virtualization and container tech (VMware, WSL, Docker).
• Experience scripting and automation with PowerShell, Bash and Git.
• Experience deploying data-related services in Microsoft Azure.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability.
• Understanding of platform monitoring, security and IAM.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and improve secure data platforms and environments.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, models, integrations.
• Administer analytical technologies including SQL Server, SAS, R, Python and Power BI.
• Support virtualised and container-based environments on Windows and Linux.
• Deploy and support data-related services in Azure per architecture and security.
• Develop scripts to improve deployment, monitoring and testing.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, implement improvements.
• Maintain platform security, access controls and auditable processes.
• Produce technical runbooks and support guidance.
• Provide technical advice and knowledge transfer across the team.
