Salexo Consulting is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Canberra region in the construction sector. The role focuses on finding new customers, building strong relationships and driving sales growth across the Greater Canberra area.

The candidate will spend significant time in the field, meeting builders, contractors and construction businesses, identifying needs and converting opportunities into revenue growth. Strong negotiation and verbal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development or external/territory sales.
• Building materials or construction industry experience preferred.
• Proven ability to win new customers and grow sales.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a sales territory across Greater Canberra.
• Identify and win new customers across the construction industry.
• Build relationships with builders, contractors, trades and construction businesses.
• Generate new leads through prospecting, cold calling and networking.
• Meet customers regularly and develop strong working relationships.
• Identify upcoming projects and turn opportunities into sales.
• Grow existing customer relationships and increase sales.
• Prepare quotations and negotiate pricing with customers.
• Keep up to date with local market activity and competitors.
• Work closely with internal sales, operations and management.
• Work towards and exceed sales and profitability targets.
