Job summary

The Parliament of Australia is seeking an experienced procurement and contracting leader based in Canberra to drive complex procurement activities, strengthen governance and improve contract management practices. You will lead a team delivering high-quality procurement advice, manage risks, and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.

The role requires a Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting or higher and the ability to obtain Baseline Vetting security clearance.

Qualifications

• Lead procurement/advisory function with governance and value outcomes.
• Strategic and analytical judgement with extensive procurement/contract expertise.
• Ability to communicate with influence and manage senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team providing procurement and contract management advice and delivery services, setting priorities, allocating resources and ensuring timely, consistent and high-quality outcomes.
• Establish QA, escalation and review arrangements; monitor compliance, probity, commercial and delivery risks across the team.
• Provide strategic and authoritative advice to senior executives on complex procurement/contract matters.
• Ensure advice supports DPS priorities, requirements and risk settings.
• Resolve complex stakeholder issues and negotiate outcomes with senior internal stakeholders.
