Job summary

Hindmarsh is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team in Canberra. The role covers month and year-end processing, journals and account reconciliations, reporting deadlines, and supporting financial planning.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will maintain reconciliations, prepare financial statements, and assist with BAS, FBT, superannuation, work cover and payroll tax returns. Suitable for someone with 2–3 years in accounting and pursuing CPA.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of work experience in an accounting role.
• Ability to effectively manage priorities.
• Customer focus and responsiveness.
• Currently studying or intending to start CPA.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts.
• Provide financial information and analysis per reporting deadlines.
• Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements.
• Prepare compliance activities including BAS, FBT, superannuation, work cover and payroll tax returns and supporting work papers.
• Assist in financial planning and forecasting for the business unit.
