Job summary

Deakin University is seeking a Campus Life Officer to help deliver engaging programs and events that foster connection across residential communities. You will work closely with the Campus Life Coordinator to support student wellbeing and create a positive living environment.

The role requires on-campus presence, a fortnightly rotating roster, and evenings/weekends to support programs and student needs. A degree or equivalent experience is essential, with a focus on building vibrant student

Qualifications

• A degree and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience coordinating programs, events or initiatives that engage students and communities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse student groups.
• Experience mentoring student leaders or peer-based teams.
• Passion for student wellbeing and inclusive campus communities.

Responsibilities

• Support student wellbeing and uphold community standards, helping to create a safe, inclusive and respectful living environment.
• Design and deliver engaging events, programs and campaigns that foster connection, belonging and an exceptional residential student experience.
• Support the recruitment, training and development of Residential Leaders, empowering students to make a positive impact within their community.
• Provide guidance, coaching and support to Residential Leaders, contributing to the delivery of successful programs and positive community outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with students, university stakeholders and community partners to enhance engagement and strengthen the residential experience.
