Job summary

Torrens University Australia is seeking a Campus Life Coordinator in Sydney to enhance student experiences at the Surry Hills campus. You will lead campus activities, support events, and act as a friendly point of contact for students and staff.

You'll coordinate Orientation, engage with international students, and work with campus partners to ensure a welcoming, accessible environment while overseeing WHS matters and committee activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a front-of-house, customer service or hospitality role; higher education campus experience is advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for helping people and creating a welcoming, accessible, student-centred experience.
  • A visible, hands-on approach and the confidence to set up spaces, support events and deliver initiatives.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with students, staff, academic teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take ownership and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to schedule and prioritise effectively, manage competing priorities and stay responsive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong administration and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work in campus operating hours, including occasional out-of-hours or weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate campus activities for students, industry and staff, including events, campus tours, student activities and information sessions.
  • Be a visible and engaged point of contact on campus, supporting students and staff and helping resolve issues as needed.
  • Coordinate Orientation activities, including hosting the International Student Welcome session and supporting international students through sessions and guidance.
  • Work with Campus Directors, Program Directors and accommodation providers to support welfare and academic progress of international students under 18, per ESOS requirements.
  • Collaborate with the SRC to support student-led initiatives and provide practical guidance.
  • Coordinate staff and student communications on campus, including newsletters, signage and digital displays.
  • Monitor WHS matters across campus, support inspections, maintain risk information and raise health and safety awareness.
  • Lead and coordinate the Campus WHS Committee, including volunteer First Aiders and Mental Health First Aiders.
  • Support the Property and Facilities team with safety and security initiatives on campus.

What You’ll Do

You’ll help bring our campus activation strategy to life while supporting a positive, student-centredexperience for everyone who studies,worksand visits at Surry Hills.

Skills & Experience
Must Have
  • Experience ina front-of-house, customer service, hospitality or customer experience role; experience in a campus or higher education environment is advantageous.

Nice to Have
  • Knowledge or experience in workplace health and safety, riskmanagementor campus safety processes.

  • Current First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain it.

  • Experience coordinating volunteers, committees,eventsor student engagement initiatives.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or another CRM/customer management platform.
