Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Plant Operator to join the Regional Maintenance team in Yass, NSW. You will operate Lime spreader, Water Cart, rollers, loader and other equipment to support road construction and maintenance projects.

You will perform pre-start inspections, basic maintenance and traffic management tasks while upholding safety, environmental and quality standards in a dynamic field-based environment.

Qualifications

• Current Australian driver's licence (Class C); provisional P1 acceptable
• Construction Industry White Card
• Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR) desirable or willing to obtain within 3 months
• Traffic Controller Card or willing to obtain within 3 months
• Work Zone Traffic Management qualification or willing to obtain within 3 months
• Strong literacy and numeracy for work records and team comms
• Willingness to obtain any other legislated/licensing requirements as directed

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment (Lime spreader, Water Cart, rollers, loader, mixer) to support road works.
• Contribute to safe, efficient delivery of regional maintenance projects.
• Perform pre-start checks and basic plant maintenance.
• Carry out traffic management tasks and manual handling activities.
• Maintain safety, environmental and quality standards on site.
• Participate in practical assessments to demonstrate plant operation.
• Record work activities accurately and collaborate with the team.
