Job summary

Seven Media Group is seeking an experienced ENG Camera Operator to join the Townsville News Team. You will film segments and stories across locations, including aerial footage, and assist with editing to maintain high production quality.

Applicants should have on-air operation experience, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, including travel on short notice and irregular hours.

About the role

You’re an experienced ENG Camera Operator joining the dynamic and talented News Team in Townsville!

We are looking for someone who possesses a high level of creativity and a camera/editing style consistent with metropolitan television.

What you’ll do

You’ll be responsible for filming segments and stories in various locations and aerial footage. In addition, this position will also support with editing segments and stories.

What you’ll need

You will be an experienced Camera Operator with a drive and passion for high production quality standards and the ability to think clearly, communicate, and act quickly under pressure requiring minimal supervision. You will be an exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skill and the ability to form credible, productive relationships with Reporters and Producers.

More specifically, you'll bring:

Experience in News and on-air operations.

A willingness to travel at short notice to cover breaking news.

Flexibility ability to work irregular hours. This position may require someone on call/ out of hours work.
