Job summary

ISS Health Services P/L operates an on-site cafe at Flinders Medical Centre, serving visitors, patients and staff. We seek experienced Cafe Attendants and Barista professionals who can work across shifts 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am, with a minimum of 18 hours per week.

We offer full training on site and access to staff discounts. Candidates should have previous cafe/restaurant experience, strong presentation, and excellent communication skills, plus immunisation and clearance requirements

Qualifications

• Immunisations evidence (Hep B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Pertussis, Diphtheria, Polio) is essential.
• Current Police Clearance not older than 12 months is essential.
• Current DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC) is essential.
• Food Handling Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the Café.
• Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes.
• Serve guests, patients and staff with quality service.
• Ensure areas are stocked (food, drinks, crockery, consumables).
• Maintain stock levels and conduct stock takes.
• Handle cash according to procedures.
• Barista duties: espresso-based coffees, teas and other beverages.

Job description

With people and relationships being the centre of all that we do, be a part of something big. Our ISS Healthcare Team have exciting opportunity for experienced Cafe Attendants & Barista Professionals to work in the onsite café serving visitors, patients and staff at Flinders Medical Centre.

The Café runs 24/7 (including public holidays), with Café Attendants needing to be available any 5 days in the week, with flexibility to work across any of the shifts (7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am).

A minimum of 18 hours per week will be available.

General responsibilities will include:

• Opening and closing of the Café;
• Preparation of food and beverages to customer expectations;
• Ensure all food and beverages are prepared and served according to standard recipes;
• Ensure all areas are fully stocked during services periods, including food items, drink dispensers, crockery, cutlery and consumables;
• Maintain stock levels including stock takes;
• Ensure all cash handling is accurate and is in line with the cash handling process;
• Barista duties - Prepare and serve espresso-based coffees as well as teas and other beverages.
• Access to staff discounts with wide range of companies
• Full training and will be provided on site
• Previous experience in a similar role in a café or restaurant (any industry).
• Exceptional personal presentation and grooming, strong organisational and written/verbal communications skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong focus on safety, the environment and compliance
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to deliver a high level of customer service.
• Australian work rights - minimum 18 hours per week.

Compliance Requirements to be met:
