ISS Facility Services (Australia) is seeking a casual Chef at Flinders Medical Centre (Bedford) to prepare and deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for hospital patients, ensuring dietary requirements and HACCP standards are met.

You will work alongside the Head Chef in a role focused on leave coverage, stock management, and maintaining presentation standards within a healthcare kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing and cooking bulk meals in a commercial, healthcare, aged care, education, hospitality, or institutional kitchen.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture-modified meals.
• Understanding of food safety legislation and HACCP principles.

About the role:

Our team is growing, and we are currently seeking motivated individuals to join us in the position of Chef at Flinders Medical Centre (Bedford) on a Casual basis.

Working alongside the Head Chef, the successful candidate will prepare and deliver high quality, nutritious meals for hospital patients, ensuring compliance with dietary requirements, food safety standards, and kitchen operational procedures. The role is casual and primarily provides leave coverage.

About you:

• Experience preparing and cooking bulk meals in a commercial, healthcare, aged care, education, hospitality, or institutional kitchen
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture-modified meals
• Understanding of food safety legislation and HACCP principles
• Experience ordering stock and managing inventory
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Current or eligible Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to undergo a functional pre-employment medical
• Police Clearance, or ability to obtain, is essential
• DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC), or ability to obtain, is essential
• Evidence of immunisation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Pertussis, Diphtheria, Hep B, Polio or willingness to obtain, as per SA Health Worker policy is essential
