Job summary

Rottnest Express, part of the Journey Beyond Group, is seeking a Northport Café Attendant in Fremantle to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will take orders, operate the coffee machine, prepare food, and support café operations with a positive, can-do attitude.

The role suits someone who thrives in a busy tourism and hospitality environment, with flexibility to work part-time to casual hours including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Hospitality qualification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced guest service environments is desirable.
• Excellent communication and a can-do attitude.
• Flexible to work early starts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging guest experiences with consistent service.
• Take and serve customer orders and operate the café POS.
• Operate coffee machine and café equipment.
• Prepare and present food; maintain high food displays.
• Assist with café menu development and smooth operations.
• Maintain clean café and kitchen areas; ensure WHS compliance.

About The Role

The Northport Café Attendant works alongside the Café Supervisor and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests and visitors. Ensuring that we stay true to our core promise of ‘Sharing Special Places and Shaping Lasting Memories’ with each and every customer interaction.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering exceptional and engaging guest experiences and consistent service
• Taking and serving customer orders
• Operation of coffee machine and other café equipment
• Preparing, presenting, and cooking food, including maintaining food displays to a high standard
• Assisting with café menu development
• Helping to ensure café operation runs smoothly
• Cleaning of Café & Kitchen work area as required
• Processing customer purchases through POS system accurately and correctly
• Ensuring that the terminal’s tables, chairs and dining area remain clean and tidy at all times
• Adherence of operational procedures and WHS requirements

It is Desirable That You Have:

• A relevant qualification in Hospitality or equivalent experience - highly regarded
• Responsible Service of Alcohol or Approved Bar Managers highly regarded
• Food Handling Certificate
• Provide First Aid & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• Barista Training - highly regarded
• Demonstrated experience in fast paced customer service environments.
• A strong personal commitment to excellent customer service
• Good understanding of coffee & food preparation and service
• Knowledge of Work Health and Safety, Food Handling and Hygiene requirements & guidelines
