Job summary

Churches of Christ in Queensland is seeking a friendly Café Attendant for the Little Mountain Integrated Campus on the Sunshine Coast. This casual junior position supports day-to-day café operations and delivers welcoming, quality service to customers, staff and the community.

You’ll prepare and serve coffee and beverages, handle POS transactions, assist with food service and maintain hygiene standards in a busy cafe environment. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Certified Barista qualification or equivalent barista experience
• Minimum 12 months' experience as a barista and/or wait staff in a café or similar environment
• Experience using a point-of-sale system
• Current Driver's Licence
• Current National Police Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Current Influenza Vaccination, or willingness to obtain, where required under policy or government direction
• COVID-19 Vaccination, or willingness to obtain, where required under policy or government direction
• Australian working rights

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving quality coffee and beverages
• Completing general barista duties and ensuring the correct use and care of coffee equipment
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Taking customer orders and operating the cash register and point-of-sale system
• Preparing, serving and delivering food and drinks to customers
• Setting up, packing down and maintaining the café and kitchen areas
• Completing cleaning duties in line with required hygiene and infection control standards
• Assisting with stock control and liaising with suppliers or the Café Manager regarding stock requirements
• Supporting the team with café events and other activities as required

About the Role

In this practical and customer-focused position, you'll play an important part in the effective and efficient running of the café, including:

• Preparing and serving quality coffee and beverages

Requirements

Desirable

• Certificate II in Hospitality
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
• Coffee art skills
• Experience supporting events or functions
• Willingness to learn!
