Junction Support Services invites you to join The Close Collective Cafe team in Albury. As a Cafe Assistant, you will help operate a social enterprise cafe where profits support young people and community initiatives. You will join a friendly team, serve customers, and contribute to a welcoming experience.

You will assist with coffee and drinks, food prep, and maintaining a clean, efficient cafe. A positive attitude, reliability and a team-first mindset are valued as we invest in community

Qualifications

• At least 1 year cafe/restaurant experience in fast-paced hospitality.
• Strong commitment to friendly, professional customer service.
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.
• NSW Working with Children Check and Australian Police Check required.

Responsabilités

• Make coffees, teas and other drinks.
• Prepare, heat and serve food.
• Keep cafe, kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy.
• Use the POS system and handle customer payments.
• Help with stock deliveries, storage and restocking.
• Ensure food is stored and handled safely.
• Clean and look after cafe equipment.
• Create a positive and welcoming cafe environment.

The Close Collective Cafe is a social enterprise, with profits reinvested into supporting young people and creating positive opportunities in our community. By joining our team, you’ll play an important role in helping us create a welcoming cafe while contributing to something bigger.

About The Role

As an experienced Cafe Assistant with Close Collective @ Retro Lane Cafe, you’ll work in a social enterprise cafe where the profits go back into supporting young people. You’ll be part of a friendly team, serve our customers, learn new skills and help create opportunities for young people in our community.

In this hands on role, you’ll support the day to day running of the cafe and help create a welcoming experience for every customer. From serving customers and making great coffee and drinks to preparing food and keeping the cafe running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll contribute to creating a cafe that people love to visit and enjoy working in.

We have multiple casual opportunities, all based at our Retro Lane Cafe in central Albury. The position is covered by the Restaurant Industry Award 2020, Food & Beverage Level 1-3, depending on your skills and experience.

What You Can Expect

• Help create a positive and welcoming cafe environment

About You

• At least one year of demonstrated experience working in a cafe, restaurant, or similar fast-paced hospitality setting, with the ability to perform a variety of duties.
• Strong commitment to delivering friendly, professional customer service, with the ability to build rapport and handle customer enquiries or concerns positively.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and a demonstrated record of punctuality and reliability.
• Before starting, an NSW Working with Children Check, and an Australian Police Check will be required (a part of the onboarding process).

Desirable

• Barista experience and/or formal barista training.
• Food Handling Certificate.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Certificate II or III in Hospitality.
