Sedgman in Brisbane is looking for a Cadet Designer to join our multidisciplinary drafting team. You’ll gain hands-on experience across Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) design, working with experienced engineers on major mining and minerals projects.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least one year of an Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Engineering.
• OR completion of at least one year of a Certificate IV in Engineering.
• Interest in Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) design and drafting.
• Willingness to learn and strong problem-solving aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of detailed 3D SMP designs using Autodesk Plant Design software.
• Produce engineering drawings and technical documentation under supervision.
• Gain exposure to materials handling systems, process plant equipment and piping.
• Support project teams and maintain accurate project records.
• Contribute to drafting system maintenance and continuous learning.
